A Four-Week Trust the Mark Painting Experience

What happens when you stop trying to make the “right” painting and allow the work to unfold one decision at a time?

​

Wonders in the Making is a four-week guided painting experience built around the ideas behind Trust the Mark. You’ll work on one painting over the course of four sessions, giving yourself time to experiment, respond, change direction, cover things up, uncover something new, and keep going.

​

This is less about producing a perfect finished painting and more about learning to trust the process.

Who are these workshops for? 

This experience is for anyone who wants to loosen up creatively, move past overthinking, or explore a more intuitive way of working.
You do not need to be an experienced artist.
You simply need to be willing to experiment, make decisions, and allow the painting to change as you work.

What to Expect at a Creative Workshop

Over four weeks, we’ll work with:

  • Layering paint and marks

  • Color, movement, and composition

  • Responding to what is already on the surface

  • Changing direction when something feels stuck

  • Letting go of the need to know exactly where the painting is going

  • Using prompts and creative exercises to keep the work moving

 

The Trust the Mark cards will be one of the tools we use throughout the series. They are there to prompt exploration, encourage new choices, and help move you past the moments when you’re tempted to stop because you don’t know what comes next.​

Why Four Weeks?

Intuitive painting takes time.

Working on the same piece over several sessions gives you room to step away, come back with fresh eyes, make changes, and experience what happens when a painting is allowed to evolve instead of being rushed to completion.

Some of the most interesting moments often happen after the point where you thought you were finished.

  • A completed original painting

  • More confidence making creative decisions

  • New ways to move through uncertainty or creative blocks

  • A better understanding of layering and intuitive painting

  • Your own deck of Trust the Mark cards to continue using after the series ends
