Advanced Furniture Finishing Workshop

Ready to go beyond a basic painted finish?

55 US dollars
Marlene Steele Art|Front Street

Service Description

Join me for an afternoon in the studio as I transform one piece of furniture from base coat to finished piece using an advanced layered painting technique. I’ll demonstrate the entire process, explain what I’m doing and why, and show you how I make decisions along the way, including what to do when a layer isn’t working the way you expected. You’ll have opportunities to get up close, try portions of the technique yourself, ask questions throughout, and see how thin layers of paint can create depth and visual texture without creating a heavily textured surface. The furniture will be prepped and base-coated before the workshop so we can spend our time on the fun part: creating the finish. No furniture or supplies needed. This workshop is designed for those with some previous furniture painting experience. Start Small, Leave Confident or similar experience is recommended.
