Workshops & Creative Experiences
Creative workshops and experiences
Some are designed to teach practical skills. Others are about exploring creativity, slowing down, trying something new, or simply giving yourself permission to make without worrying about getting it “right.”
Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or ready to push your creativity further, there’s a place to begin.
Start Small, Leave Confident
Furniture Painting for Beginners
If you’ve wanted to try painting furniture but weren’t sure where to start, this is for you.
Bring a small furniture piece and learn the fundamentals in a supportive, hands-on class designed specifically for beginners. We keep the project manageable so you can learn the process, finish your piece, and leave knowing you can do it again at home.
No previous experience required.
Advanced Furniture Finishing Workshop
Ready to move beyond a basic painted finish?
Spend an afternoon watching an advanced furniture finish develop from beginning to end. I’ll demonstrate the process on one selected piece, explain my decisions along the way, answer questions, and invite you to try parts of the technique yourself.
The piece will already be prepped and base-coated so we can focus on layering, color, visual texture, finishing, and the part that comes with experience: knowing what to do next.
Previous furniture painting experience is recommended. Start Small, Leave Confident or similar experience is ideal.
A Moment for You
Creativity. Reflection. Connection.
Come for a restorative evening of creativity, reflection, and connection.
Together with licensed therapist Tracy Rice, I’ll guide you through simple watercolor exercises while Tracy leads gentle reflection and conversation. This small-group experience is designed to help you slow down, get out of your head, connect with yourself, and share the experience with others.
No art experience is needed.
Wonders in the Making
A Four-Week Trust the Mark Experience
This is not about painting the “right” picture.
Over four weeks, you’ll work on one painting while exploring intuition, experimentation, decision-making, and what happens when you allow a piece to develop instead of deciding exactly what it should become before you begin.
We’ll use Trust the Mark cards as one of the tools throughout the process, along with exercises, prompts, conversation, and plenty of room for trial and error.
Your own deck of Trust the Mark cards is included.
Upcoming Workshops
New dates and creative experiences are added throughout the year.
Come learn something. Try something. Make something.
And maybe surprise yourself a little.
Not the right time, but still curious?
This is where the conversation continues.
From time to time, I send a note from the studio — stories, reflections, and moments that don’t always fit on social media.
If you’d like to get to know me and my work a little more, you’re welcome here.
